Sir Jim Ratcliffe has finally received Premier League approval for his 25% purchase of Manchester United.
According to The Telegraph, a deal will be completed within days as the Football Association signs off a final agreement after Ratcliffe was allowed extra time to conclude the deal until the end of this week.
This means Ratcliffe’s deal is now all-but-done after a dragged out saga which began with a statement from the Glazers exploring a sale in November 2022.
Ratcliffe and his Ineos Group will be able to take full control of football operations now that this his deal is in the process of being completed.
The Ineos founder has also pledge to invest an additional $300 million to improve the club’s infrastructure.
While waiting for the Premier League, Ratcliffe conducted a series of meetings with club staff, supporters and associates. It is clear he wants to hit the ground running.
