Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS want to keep Marcus Rashford at the club this summer.
Should the player go in the next window, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal are both said to have expressed interest in signing him.
After an incredible season in which he scored thirty goals in all competitions and earned the PFA Premier League Fans’ Player of the Year award, the 26-year-old forward has had a dismal following season.
With just five goals this season, the Englishman has gone from being United’s star player to essentially their third option in their youthful attack, behind Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund, who are unquestionably the primary players at Old Trafford at the moment.
Off the field controversies have disrupted Rashford’s season at the club and he was even punished by the club for his disciplinary issues.
A report from the Football Insider stated:
“It is believed INEOS are keen to keep him at United as their new regime gets into full swing”.
“A well-placed source has told Football Insider that last season’s heroics from Rashford are fresh in the memories of club chiefs – who ‘know what he can do’ at his best.”
Furthermore, it has been reported that Sir Jim Ratcliffe has wished to keep a youthful, British core with Premier League experience; hence, it would appear counterproductive to this goal to abandon the academy product.
Given that Rashford is still a mainstay in Erik ten Hag’s starting lineup, it is also extremely unlikely that Sir Jim Ratcliffe will want to begin his tenure at the club with the drama and commotion a Rashford sale would cause in the press.
