Manchester United’s first departure has been announced in a brutal shake-up as Sir Jim Ratcliffe starts to take control of the club’s operations, according to The Mirror.

Manager Erik ten Hag and Sir Jim Ratcliffe have backed Gary O’Driscoll, the club’s head of sports medicine, in his assessment of the medical staff.

As a result, a physio staff member has left the club as United look to improve every area of the team.

This season, United have struggled with a lengthy injury list, which has affected the team’s shape and performances due to the absence of important players like Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez.

O’Driscoll was a major addition to United upon his appointment from Arsenal. He is regarded as one of the best in his field.

He is given the authority to dig deep into the setup, undertake a thorough analysis, and look for ways to make the performance better. More changes are expected after the departure of a senior physio, who left on friendly terms.

Prior to the arrival of British billionaire Ratcliffe, these changes were expected, although INEOS were contacted and have provided assistance.

Ratcliffe has agreed to purchase a 25% share in the club and has already made a bold announcement by appointing Omar Berrada as the new chief executive, after luring him away from Manchester City.

More changes can be expected at the club soon as Ratcliffe aims to get a stronger hold of things at Old Trafford. The player recruitment, the handling of contracts to players and appointments at the top level are all expected to be done with consultation from the new minority owner.
