West Ham United attacker Jarrod Bowen has been in impressive form for the London club this season.
The 27-year-old has firmly established himself as one of the finest attackers in the Premier League and he has 18 goals across all competitions.
One would expect him to make the England squad for the upcoming European Championships but popular pundit Paul Merson believes that he could end up being heartbroken.
Merson claims that Gareth Southgate has an abundance of options and Bowen might not get the opportunities he deserves.
He wrote on Sky Sports: “Jarrod Bowen can play in three or four positions across the frontline. I like him, he’s a manager’s dream and gives you everything but he might just miss out of the Euros squad. He’s unlucky but Southgate has so many options. He’d have been sweating if Sterling was ripping it up. There’s going to be some disappointed players this summer.”
England are well-stocked in the attacking areas and Arsenal star Bukayo Saka plays in a similar role to that of West Ham attacker.

Jarrod Bowen in action for West Ham UnitedSaka could easily be given preference ahead of the West Ham attacker because of the profile of the club he plays for and his performances in the Champions League.
Arsenal are also fighting for the league title and Saka has been instrumental in their push for the Premier League crown.
Bowen will certainly hope that Southgate gives him the opportunity to showcase his qualities in a major tournament with England and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.
