Manchester United are expecting to receive offers for Christian Eriksen before deadline day.
The Denmark international has been strongly linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer, although the interest in him has been minimal until now.
We can only assume other clubs are waiting to see what state their squads are in as we get closer to deadline day. They will hope the longer they leave it, the more desperate United could become to cash in on the experienced Dane.
Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth claims United are waiting on offers for Eriksen, with 10 days left in the summer transfer window.
“Christian Eriksen is an interesting one,” Sheth told Give Me Sport. “I’m not sure how much money he would fetch. He’s into the final year of his contract, and added to that, there’s a number of clubs who are interested in him.
“I think they’re also being quite patient as well to see what kind of deal they can get.”
United are looking to add to their squad and selling players deemed surplus to requires will help achieve that. The sales of Mason Greenwood and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have helped generate funds.
This makes Eriksen one of watch ahead of deadline day.
United have struggled to sell players such as Casemiro, Jadon Sancho and Victor Lindelof. There’s a chance all three will remain at the club but at least it sounds like progress is being made on finding Eriksen a new home.
Manchester United offer Eriksen to Ajax
According to The Athletic, United have placed a £5 million price tag on Eriksen’s ahead.
Ajax are one of the clubs handed a chance to sign the Denmark star.
United need to get Eriksen off the wage books and his impact on the team dropped significantly last season.
