The Algerian international striker has made an important choice for the rest of his career.

After an African Cup of Nations marked by the elimination of Algeria in the group stage, an executive from the Algerian selection is preparing to open a new chapter in his career. Islam Slimani put an end to his adventure at the Coritiba club.

Arriving at this Brazilian team last summer, Slimani terminated his contract with Coritiba. This club was relegated to the Brazilian second division at the end of the last financial year. “Coritiba informs that athlete Islam Slimani is no longer part of the club’s professional team, due to the early termination of his employment contract”indicates the official press release from the Brazilian club.

It remains to be seen what direction Islam Slimani will take for the rest of his career. At 35 years old, the Algerian international still has strengths to showcase. His experience at the high level, his stints in Ligue 1 (Monaco, Brest) and his combativeness could attract elite teams by the end of this winter transfer window.
