Conor Gallagher, Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez were all on the scoresheet, before Moussa Diaby got a late consolation for Villa in the 91st minute.

Fernandez hit the goal of the game with a stunning 30-yard free-kick to beat Argentina teammate Emi Martinez.

He took his shirt off and held it up to show the name on the back - and very much indicated he would be going nowhere amid reports that he wants to leave.

It was a celebration that Lionel Messi famously did in 2017 against Real Madrid after scoring his 500th Barcelona goal.

ITV pundit Karen Carney aimed a tongue in cheek message to Carragher by saying: “Talk about over celebrating a bit.”

Keane, with a huge grin on his face, said: “Let them enjoy it.”

This was seemingly in response to the Liverpool legend’s comments about Arsenal over-celebrating their win against Jurgen Klopp’s side at the weekend.

Mikel Arteta was fist-pumping to the crowd, while Martin Odegaard used a camera to take pictures of the Gunners’ club photographer.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher said: “Just get down the tunnel. You’ve won a game. It’s three points.

“They’re back in the title race, get down the tunnel. I’m serious, honestly.”

Many Arsenal fans were left fuming by Carragher's opinion - and Keane's cheeky dig on Wednesday will no doubt delight them.
