Snoop Dogg will be one of the torchbearers of the Olympic flame who will carry it in the final hours of its France-wide tour ahead of the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games on Friday.

The rapper is in the French capital for the games as a sportscaster on NBC’s Primetime in Paris show, working alongside Mike Tirico, the primetime host for NBC’s Paris Olympics coverage.

Local media reported on Tuesday that Snoop Dog will carry the flame during its penultimate leg around the northern Paris suburb of Saint-Denis, which is hosting part of the Olympic Village and is also home to Stade de France and the new Olympic Aquatics Centre.

After its tour of Saint-Denis, the flame will be carried to the Olympic cauldron in the Tuileries Gardens, its final destination for the 2024 Olympics.

French personalities set to carry the flame on Friday include rapper MC Solaar, actress Laeticia Casta, Saint Omer film director Alice Diop, Paralympian Charles-Antoine Kouakou and rugby player Abdelatif Benazzi.

The identity of the final torchbearer has yet to be announced.

The Olympic flame first arrived on France from Greece on May 8, marked by a rousing ceremony in the port city of Marseille, and has been touring about the country ever since.

Per a NBC release, Snoop Dogg will be attending Olympic competitions, visiting with Olympic athletes and their friends and families, and “exploring the unique sights and sounds that only Paris has to offer” as part of his coverage of the games.
