More On Judge Mark S. Arnold’s Question About A$AP Rocky & Rihanna Being Married
According to HipHopDX, Judge Arnold, prosecuting lawyers, and A$AP’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, gathered for a pretrial hearing on Wednesday, January 15. During the hearing, the judge could be heard asking the attorneys how he should refer to Rihanna during the case.
“Is it his girlfriend or his wife?” the judge appears to ask in circulating footage.
In response, Tacopina explained that Rih is Rocky’s “common law wife… or just ‘wife.’ The judge appeared to be open to referring to Rih as the defense’s suggestion.
However, at that point, prosecutors chimed in to share their disagreement.
“They’re not legally married [so] we’d prefer that she not be referred to as his wife, and she’s just referred to as his significant other or [the mother of his children],” one prosecutor explained.
Ultimately, the judge appeared to be swayed by the defense’s objection and asserted that if Rih and Rocky “are not legally married anywhere,” she will not be referred to as his wife.
Peep the moment below.
As The Shade Room previously reported, Rocky is headed to trial after being arrested in April 2022 and accused of assault with a deadly weapon. Furthermore, the alleged victim, A$AP Relli, whose real name is Terell Ephron, has alleged that the rapper intentionally fired multiple shots at him. Additionally, Relli reportedly alleged he was injured by bullet fragments.
To date, Rocky has reportedly maintained his innocence, alleging Relli’s claims are an extortion attempt.
