Here’s What Reginae Said About The Ongoing Los Angeles Wildfires

On Friday, January 10, Carter took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share a message for the “ignorant people.”

“I wanna tell the ignorant people something … it doesn’t matter how much money you have .. don’t nobody wanna see everything they worked so hard for .. in Ashes !” she wrote. “Like wtf is wrong with yall telling fortunate people to ‘just buy a new house’ like huh? Yall are weird .”

Furthermore, Carter’s sentiments did not end there. Subsequently, she followed up with another tweet, writing, Praying for everyone…  chile we living in scary times !”

Social Media Reacts To Her Message

Social media users shared mixed reactions to Reginae Carter’s stance in The Shade Room’s comment section. As The Shade Room previously reported, the natural disaster began engulfing the Los Angeles region on Thursday, January 8. Since then, The Hill has reported that over 35,000 acres of land have been burned, and at least 10 people have been killed.

Instagram user @abominationhottie wrote, I think folks are missing the fact that you can sympathize with someone but NOT empathize with them. Folks can sympathize that it sucks that people are losing their homes and items but asking lower income folks to EMPATHIZE with people who have multiple homes… is something completely different…”

While Instagram user @adacargo_ added,Honestly. Some of the comments are soo inhumane.”

Instagram user @michlisaelle wrote, Imagine not having the money to replace what was lost. Now THATS scary. Yea I can sympathize with loosing the home you’ve been in for forever but my biggest sympathy goes to people who can’t replace that home and legit have to start from scratch and build their way back up!”

Instagram user @nycbajan wrote, Money can’t buy back everything. Pictures, memorabilia hurts the most.”

Instagram user @charityslove added, Also yall act like these rich people don’t have people who work for them. There are chefs, nanny’s, house cleaners etc losing their jobs along with these homes burning down. And not all the people are rich rich. Why is it so hard to have empathy for people going through something.”

While Instagram user @_alwayss__t wrote, Right!! But the comparison is up against those who have lost EVERYTHING…. Taking up internet space to cry over a vacation home is ‘weird’….😮”

Instagram user @pretty_ona__ added, It’s called Privilege… they will be ok… unlike most Americans…”
