Sofia Carson And Corey Mylchreest To Star In Feature Adaptation Of ‘My Oxford Year’ For Netflix And Temple Hill

EXCLUSIVE: Netflix is looking to stay in business with two familiar faces as Purple Hearts star Sofia Carson and Queen Charlotte Corey Mylchreest  are set to star in the studio’s adaptation of the popular novel My Oxford Year by Julia Whelan. The Inbetweeners director Iain Morris will helm with Temple Hill Entertainment producing. Laura Quicksilver and George Berman are overseeing the production.

Allison Burnett penned the original draft with current revisions by Savion Einstein. Caroline Levy is exec producing.

The story follows Anna, an ambitious young American woman, who after settig out for Oxford University to fulfill a childhood dream, has her life completely on track until she meets a charming and clever local who profoundly alters both of their lives.

Based on the 2013 novel by Lori Nelson Spielman, The Life List‘s logline is as follows: When Alex Rose’s (Carson) mother sends her on a quest to complete her childhood bucket list, it takes her on a journey that will make you both laugh and cry as she uncovers family secrets, finds romance, and discovers herself along the way.

This will mark Carson’s fourth Netflix film in a row which started with the phenomenon Purple Hearts. She also served as Executive Producer and co-wrote and performed the film’s original soundtrack. Purple Hearts debuted at #1 globally and made history as one of the Top 10 most-watched Netflix films of all time. The film’s soundtrack made history as Netflix’s most streamed soundtrack of all time.

Following the success of Purple Hearts, Carson will star opposite Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman in the Netflix and Amblin thriller Carry-On. She will also topline the Netflix Rom-Com The Life List from writer-director Adam Brooks.

As for Mylchreest, he has seen similar success in the Bridgerton universe most recently played Young King George in the spin-off, Queen Charlotte. On top of that he also appeared in the Netflix series The Sandman.
