Sofía Vergara was not happy when Kelly Clarkson downplayed her “Griselda” makeup transformation.
While interviewing the actress about her new Netflix miniseries Wednesday, the “Kelly Clarkson Show” host opined, “I feel like they only changed your nose or something” to play Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco.
Vergara appeared visibly shocked as she asked whether Clarkson was “crazy.”
But the “Stronger” singer doubled down on her comments, saying, “It looks slight. You know what I’m saying? Like, when you look at you, it doesn’t look …” before the “Modern Family” alum cut her off.
Kelly Clarkson called Sofía Vergara’s “Griselda” makeup “slight” on her talk show.“No, Kelly, it was hours,” Vergara said of the time she spent in the makeup chair.
Still, Clarkson continued to dig in, saying that it “probably took time,” but that a “slight change completely changed [her] being.”
The “America’s Got Talent” judge then began to raise her voice, shouting, “It was a wig! Shut up!”
Vergara interrupted Clarkson to shut down her opinion that she needed very little makeup. “Shut up! It was a lot. They did a lot to me,” she snapped.“It was a lot. They did a lot to me. It was teeth, it was wig, it was nose,” she continued, adding, “It was plastic from here to here.”
Finally, the “Because of You” singer began to backtrack and change her tune.
“They did such a good job that it looks seamless,” she explained. “You just look like a different — like, you literally look like you could actually just be this person in another movie. You could have two careers.”
The “Modern Family” alum said she wore a wig as well as prosthetic teeth and a fake nose. “No, Kelly, it was hours,” Vergara said of the time it took to transform into a drug lord. She continued, “You literally look like you’re a different actress, like, playing the role. You could have a whole different life.”
Vergara was much more pleased with Clarkson’s new explanation, telling the TV host, “That’s exactly what I wanted — that reaction.”
