Sofyan Amrabat offered to Atletico Madrid

This is perhaps one of the disappointments of last season. Transferred at the end of the transfer window from Fiorentina to Manchester United, Sofyan Amrabat hoped to confirm all his talent in a posh club in England. And under the orders of Erik ten Hag whom he knew well, the Moroccan wanted to settle into this role of sentinel to support Casemiro. But after having been used almost everywhere on the field (at left-back, right-back and even central defender), the Moroccan international did not really manage to convince his management to keep him.

Back from his loan, Sofyan Amrabat was waiting for Manchester United to take action again by negotiating a lower transfer fee requested by Fiorentina. But that is not the case and the 27-year-old midfielder is starting to look elsewhere. According to our information, he was recently offered to Atletico Madrid, who are actively looking for a defensive midfielder. Last season, Diego Simeone did not hide his admiration for the Moroccan midfielder and even spoke with him. The player was tempted by a transfer to La Liga but the Colchoneros, financially limited, were unable to match the Viola’s demands. The Moroccan now hopes that Atletico will come back to the charge and his entourage has offered his services. For the moment, the Madrid club has not closed the door…
