Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu
The Governor of Sokoto State, Dr Ahmed Aliyu, has said that one of the major focuses of his administration is to give investors, especially small-scale business owners an opportunity to grow.
The governor who commends the management of Davkem Restaurant and Bakery for its investment drive in the state which he said is in line with his development plan.
The governor stated this on Saturday during the grand opening ceremony of another branch of Davkem Restaurant and Conference Hall in the state.
Represented by the State Commissioner of Commerce, Haruna Bashar, the governor said Davkem’s investment drive is in line with his vision of enhancing the visibility of all businesses.
“The development and beautification of Sokoto by the current administration is geared towards making the state a pride for all.
“The Davkem investment will further put Sokoto on the map as a conducive business destination for all. The restaurant will not only create further employment but also add to ripple effects of positive impact on the lives of those engaged.
“This effort shows the positive impact the private enterprise can have on the economy of our dear state and to further encourage a boost in the economy, we have investor-friendly policies including ensuring speedy allocation and documentation of land”, the governor noted.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director (CEO/MD) of Davkem Restaurant, Mr David Agbonyin Adesola, described Sokoto state as an investment destination with unimaginable peace.
Agbonyin, who spoke Saturday during the official opening ceremony of Davkem Restaurant, event centre, Bakery and Play Ground, said Sokoto don’t only welcome visitors but equally support them to establish businesses.
“Sokoto is a land of peace and a place to invest. Very peaceful with humble sets of people. The state not only loves visitors but also wants your businesses to grow.
“I owe my gratitude to the state government and everybody in the state. And I am also calling on prospective investors both within and outside the shores of this country to consider investing in Sokoto state as it’s a virgin place for business to grow”, he said.
