The Governing Council of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, has dismissed three staff members for gross misconduct, including result alteration, sexual harassment, and abscondment from duty.
The decision was approved during the university’s 171st regular meeting on March 12, 2025, and announced in an official press release signed by the institution’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Ismail Yauri,
According to the statement, the disciplinary action aligns with UDUS’s strict “zero tolerance” policy for unethical behaviour.
“This decision underscores the institution’s dedication to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring a safe environment for both staff and students,” the statement read.
UDUS, one of northern Nigeria’s leading universities, has consistently emphasized ethical standards among its staff and students. The latest dismissals serve as a warning against violations of the institution’s code of conduct.
