Somebody Somewhere might be over but, somehow, someday, it might return.

After the HBO series aired its third and final season last year, co-creators Hannah Bos and Paul Thureen said they were “so happy with how it landed” but “would love” a chance to bring it back.

“A show like us, it’s a miracle to get three seasons. That said, we would keep on doing it for seven, eight or nine seasons,” Thureen told The AV Club. “These characters live on for us, and I think that it’s always like a slice of life, and a moment in time, and so we’re proud of this moment and I think that we’d love an opportunity to come back to them in the future.”

Bos added, “And maybe we will.”

Somebody Somewhere stars Bridget Everett as Sam, who struggles to fit in with her family and her Kansas hometown when she returns following the death of her sister. As she learns to heal through singing, Sam finds acceptance in a community of outsiders.

Thureen said they would “love to do another show in Chicago,” adding: “We love writing and working and creating with Bridget, we would work with her forever, and the cast is incredible.”

Bos said, “HBO believed in us, and they let us make the show, and they let us make the show we wanted to make, and they were really incredible, so we were really lucky. And we would love to do it with them again.”

Thureen previously told Deadline they “didn’t know it was going to be the end” when they were writing the finale.

“Who knows, maybe there will be a Somebody Somewhere movie in two years or something like that,” he added. “If we would’ve gone back and written the perfect ending, then we wouldn’t have had that.”
