Sky Sports shared the clip online, writing: "Hanworth Villa's Sam Merson fired in an outrageous goal against Isthmian South Central side, Farnham Town!

"Paul Merson, his dad, will no doubt be left impressed."

Opposition team Farnham Town even posted about the stunner themselves, writing: "Wasn't to be for us last night but this goal from Sam Merson for Hanworth Villa FC is well worth watching on repeat..."

The 29-year-old forward executed a stunning pirouette as he controlled a high ball with his left foot.

Merson expertly flicked it over himself before swiftly turning to face the goal on the edge of the Farnham box.

In one fluid motion, he then unleashed a thunderous volley that soared past the goalkeeper and crashed into the net.

The strike sent fans and teammates into a frenzy of celebration.

But no one was prouder than his dad, Paul, who praised the moment, saying: “What a goal last night, unreal.”

Fans were in agreement too, with one writing: "If only some certain strikers in Premier league could."

Another added: "Looks like Sam Merson's been watching his highlight reels! What a goal!"
