Sophia Loren’s granddaughter Lucia, 18, makes her debut at Parisian debutante ball

Sophia Loren’s 18-year-old granddaughter, Lucia Ponti, made her grand debut at the Parisian debutante ball.

The Geneva-born beauty attended the lavish Le Bal at the Shangri-la Paris hotel on Saturday night with a slew of A-listers.

Lucia — the daughter of Sasha Alexander and Edoardo Ponti — looked radiant in a vintage-style striped lace gown by Giorgio Armani. She also glittered in a diamond and emerald necklace.

The Brown University student previously shared how her grandmother, 90, has inspired her sense of style.

“My grandmother always believed in timeless elegance and the importance of wearing something that reflects your true self,” she told Hello! in an interview published Nov. 25. “Growing up, she taught me the value of simplicity, tailoring, and always adding a touch of uniqueness to your outfit.”

Lucia added that the “Two Women” actress had a wardrobe “filled with pieces that told a story” and so she has “carried that mindset.”

“I tend to go for dresses or clothes that make me feel confident but also are comfortable to wear,” Lucia told the outlet. “I had looked through other dresses that were featured in Le Bal in previous years, and they all individually represented the girls so beautifully. I just hoped to find a dress that would do the same for me.”

She also reflected on her closeness with the two-time Oscar-winning Hollywood star, who currently resides in Switzerland.

“My grandmother and I are very close,” Lucia said. “We visit her frequently in Geneva and she comes to visit us in LA as well. I love her dearly and despite the distance, we spend ample time together.”

Lucia also recalled her grandmother staying in her bedroom while visiting the family.

“As a little girl, I would walk into my room covered in hair pieces, jewelry and coats, and at the time I was so mesmerized by the transformation my room would go through every time she visited,” Lucia recalled.

Other stars to attend Le Bal included Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s daughter Apple, 20, “Sex and the City” star Nicole Ari Parker’s daughter Sophie Kodjoe, 19, and HRH Princess Eugenia, 17.
