Sophie Turner is setting the record straight.

One day after the “Joan” star made headlines for speaking to the Sunday Times about the “struggle” of being a single mom, she clarified her comment via Instagram Stories.

The “Game of Thrones” alum, 28, explained that she had been “widely misquoted.”

She explained, “I was talking about the character of Joan that I play and was not referring to myself, which is obvious from the original interview.

“I’m very fortunate person needs to have a lot of help around me, which is not the case for a lot of people,” Turner, who shares two daughters with Joe Jonas, continued. “I applaud all single mothers doing it alone.”

In the actress’ original quote, she describes the way she related to the character she plays in her new ITV series.

“If I hadn’t been a mother, I don’t know if I would have been able to bring the same energy that I did into it,” Turner noted. “It’s such a struggle being a single mother.”

However, she noted, “Joan doesn’t go about it in the best way … but it is amazing to see her really fighting for her daughter. It’s also really important for kids really important for kids to see just how hard parents work for them.”

Turner went on to imply that portraying Joan, who is based on a real-life jewel thief, gave her “a lot of strength” during her and Jonas’ divorce.

“Joan changed me quite a lot,” she said. “From utter desperation comes so much will and ambition. The series came around at a time in my life where I had to be ambitious and I had to have such strong will and fight against the forces.”

Jonas, 35, filed for divorce from Turner in September 2023, four years after they tied the knot.

While the former couple underwent a “successful” mediation the following month and reached a temporary agreement, Turner filed to “reactivate” their case in March.

As their divorce proceedings continue to play out, the exes co-parent daughters Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2.

“I’m confident that we can figure it out,” the Emmy nominee told British Vogue in a June cover story. “Joe is a great father to our children and that’s all that I can ask for.”

Turner has moved on with aristocrat Peregrine Pearson, while Jonas briefly dated model Stormi Bree after their split.
