Nico Williams, one of Spain’s brightest young talents, is at the centre of intense transfer speculation.
The Athletic Club winger has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, who have shown the strongest interest in signing him.
However, in an unexpected twist, it has been revealed by Real Madrid Confidencial that he is also keen on joining Real Madrid, despite Barcelona’s clear pursuit of him.
The future of the 22-year-old remains uncertain, as several top European clubs are vying for his signature and among the clubs that have shown serious interest are PSG, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur.
PSG have even gone a step further by preparing to activate Nico’s €60 million release clause, putting them in a strong position to secure the player.
Despite this, he appears to favour a move to Real Madrid, even though the Spanish giants have yet to make a formal offer for him.
Real Madrid are not serious

Interestingly, Real Madrid’s level of interest in Nico is not as high as that of other clubs, and they are not overly concerned if he moves elsewhere.
The club’s current focus is on strengthening other areas of their squad, leaving the potential signing of the winger more of a secondary consideration.
Nevertheless, the fact that the winger is leaning towards Madrid indicates his desire to play for the club in the future.
But Barcelona are
On the other hand, Barcelona, aware of his interest in them, are determined to secure his signing. They know that the player would be open to joining them, which adds fuel to their pursuit.
However, they face stiff competition as Bayern Munich, the German Bundesliga’s record champions, are also closely monitoring him for a potential move in the summer of 2025.
The Bavarians are expected to enter the market for top-quality wingers depending on the futures of their current stars.
With so many elite clubs showing interest, it remains to be seen whether Barcelona can land Nico or if another club will succeed in acquiring him.
