Robert Lewandowski has enjoyed a stunning first half of the season so far and Hansi Flick will hope the Polish star can keep the steam running for the next six months.

The one limiting factor, however, is the team’s lack of a direct replacement who is even half as effective as Lewandowski. After all, Pau Victor has been far from impressive off the bench as a centre-forward.

The option of signing a new backup striker in January thus sounds well in the Catalan capital although it will depend on a plethora of factors from the team’s financial situation to the economic demands of the deal.

One name in Paris

As relayed by Fichajes in a recent update, French international Randal Kolo Muani has emerged as a potential candidate to arrive in Barcelona in January.

The player has not enjoyed much prominence under Luis Enrique at PSG and looks to be on his way out in search of a bigger role.

Both the French club and the player do not see it in bad light to part ways and anything is possible in the winter transfer window. He is one of the names on Barcelona’s radar and could thus pop up as an interesting option.

The outlet furthers that there are no formal negotiations or approaches from the Catalan club currently and everything eventually will depend on PSG’s asking price for Kolo Muani. After all, they will likely demand a sizeable fee.

The 26-year-old striker moved to PSG for a staggering €85 million fee in 2023 but has not established himself at the club. This season, he has just two starts to his name in Ligue 1 and has scored two goals and provided one assist in his ten appearances.

A move to Barcelona would allow him the space and opportunities he requires to relaunch his career.
