Until Man United decide what’s happening with Erik ten Hag, player matters will need to take a back seat.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his board have a number of issues which will need resolving in a timely manner this summer, in order that the club can move forward as one ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

There’s work to be done before any deal can be concluded of course, and there may even still be a possibility that Getafe can secure another loan for the winger.

In any event, it’s obvious that Greenwood’s future is away from Old Trafford, and if he can continue on an upward trajectory, despite the obvious historical issues in his personal life, an England recall may not be too far away either.
