Sporting CP are standing firm over Viktor Gyokeres’ asking price following interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and AC Milan, according to reports in Portugal.

The Sweden international has been in sublime form for Sporting this season with 36 goals in all competitions so far.

The 25-year-old has attracted strong interest from several clubs across Europe, while scouts from both Arsenal and Chelsea have watched the striker in action several times this season.

But according to Pedro Sepulveda, Sporting are unwilling to sell Gyokeres unless his €100 million (£85.8m) release clause is met.

It’s understood that Sporting are not willing to enter negotiations and will hold out for the striker’s clause to be triggered.

Meanwhile, Sporting could also lose their head coach Ruben Amorim, who is on Liverpool’s shortlist of candidates to replace Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season.

When asked this week if he can confirm he will stay at Sporting for another season, Amorim replied: ‘No, I can’t make any guarantees.’

Amorim also reiterated that he will leave the Portuguese club if he ends the campaign without a trophy.

‘Sporting are dealing with their future and I can’t decide now because I gave my word, I can’t go back on that, so if I don’t win trophies, I’m going to leave Sporting,’ he said.

‘That’s been very clear since the start. I felt it was important to get that across to the players because we have to win. We want to win trophies and we’ll decide on those things later.

‘I’m not worried about that right now. The future has been planned for quite a long time. We’re all together as a club and looking into all situations and what we want for next season, so that’s the main reason why I can’t guarantee anything.

‘I said that to my players and as the leader I can’t go back on my word, as hard as that may be. We have to win trophies, we’re on track to do that and that’s why it’s so important to win our next game.’
