It ended Spurs 1 Newcastle 2.

This time it took almost as long as six minutes for Newcastle United to score!

That Anthony Gordon goal coming only two minutes after Solanke had headed Spurs into the lead.

Jacob Murphy was the creator and Alexander Isak proving the match winner, as the Sweden international scored to put Newcastle 2-1 up at the break, though Spurs very lucky to be only 2-1 down.

Eddie Howe’s side then seeing out a more challenging second half, especially with the referee trying to keep it going until Spurs could find an equaliser, 59 minutes played in that second period!

An excellent team performance once again.

Looking at the individuals in black and white, interesting to get an independent perspective on how this played out.

Whoscored ratings use data from every single Premier League match, over 200 raw statistics included in the automated calculation of a player’s rating, weighted according to their influence within the game.

Now whoscored have published their independent player ratings for this Spurs 1 Newcastle 2 match:

Whoscored Spurs 1 Newcastle 2

As you can see, nine players who started the match received a rating of 7.0 or more.

Three for the home side and six for United!

That sounds a fair enough split with Bruno (7.6) the best player on the pitch.

The next highest Newcastle rated player was Anthony Gordon, a great goal and always a threat.

Then on 7.2, the NUFC trio of Livramento (excellent), the returning Sven Botman (did ever so well) and Alexander Isak (match winner!).

Joelinton (7.1) making up the half dozen who were highest rated for Newcastle United.

Though I think all the starting eleven played their part, in making it six wins out of six for NUFC.
