Nigerian singer Spyro has charged his fellow entertainers to use their platforms to address the ongoing economic crisis in the country.
The “Who’s Your Guy” crooner via his Instagram page on Thursday, expressed disappointment over the silence of many entertainers amidst the ongoing nationwide ‘#EndBadGovernance’ protest.
Recall, activists and groups had declared the protest in response to the economic hardship. The protests are expected to last for 10 days.
Spyro noted that it is insensitive for any entertainer to continue posting entertainment content while many citizens languish in poverty.
He wrote, “I personally think it is quite insensitive to post anything entertainment rn… The Country is bleeding and we all are affected whether or not we agree to that fact,” he wrote.
“I am very much affected. I particularly feel the pain of the average man and I don’t intend to keep mute so I am calling on everyone with a platform to speak up…
“I am hoping that the government will see our tears this time and take actual steps for the betterment of the people”
