A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina State has accused the caretaker committee of the party of trying to manoeuvre the sales of forms for the up-coming party congresses.

Addressing journalists at the party state headquarters in Katsina, Hon. Salisu Uli, a former state chairman of the party and a member of the state steering committee, said members of the party from Katsina and Jibia LGAs went to purchase the forms last week, but were told that the forms were not available.

“Today, we are here with six local governments representatives, two from each of the three senatorial zones of the state, to purchase the forms for the ward, local government, and state congresses, because we heard (on good authority) that the forms have left Abuja for Katsina since, but none of the members of the caretaker committee of the party is on seat.

“All their offices are locked despite the fact that today is a working day. We have called the administrative secretary of the party on the phone, but he said he is not aware of any exercise regarding the sale of forms,” he said.

Attempts to hear from the caretaker committee were unsuccessful, as both the chairman of the caretaker committee, Musa Abdulkarim, the secretary, and the former factional chairman of the party, Lawal Danbaci, neither picked up calls nor responded to messages sent to them.
