Paramount+ has set January 24, 2025 for the premiere of its upcoming movie Star Trek: Section 31, starring Michelle Yeoh in a reprisal of her Star Trek: Discovery role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou.
The announcement was made Saturday during the Star Trek universe panel at New York Comic Con. Yeoh made a video appearance during the panel, which featured cast members Omari Hardwick, Kacey Rohl and Robert Kazinsky, along with executive producer and director Olatunde Osunsanmi.
Star Trek: Section 31 will premiere exclusively Friday, January 24 in the U.S. and international markets where the service is available.
In the movie, Yeoh’s Emperor Philippa Georgiou joins a secret division of Starfleet. Tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets, she also must face the sins of her past.
In addition to Yeoh, Hardwick, Rohl and Kazinsky, cast includes Sam Richardson, Sven Ruygrok, Humberly Gonzalez and James Hiroyuki Liao. Miku Martineau portrays a young Philippa Georgiou.
Written by Craig Sweeny and directed by Osunsanmi, Star Trek: 31 is executive produced by Alex Kurtzman, Sweeny, Aaron Baiers, Osunsanmi, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth and Michelle Yeoh and is produced by CBS Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment.
