Last night, football had another evening to forget. As AC Milan went onto the Udinese pitch, Rossoneri goalkeeper Mike Maignan (28) was the victim of racist insults emanating from the stadium, leading to the match being stopped for ten minutes. An unacceptable situation, and Milan coach Stefano Pioli had a rant after the meeting at a press conference.

“I am disappointed with what happened and proud to coach someone as decent as Maignan. The ignorant can and should stay home. It’s time to end it”, pointed the Italian coach. In the end, the French goalkeeper’s teammates paid tribute to him by snatching a valuable success in stoppage time.
