Dissatisfied with Stéphanie Frappart’s refereeing during the Greek Cup final, Aris Salonika intends to file a complaint with UEFA.

The images were not pretty to see, and the soap opera of the Greek Cup final is perhaps not over for Stéphanie Frappart.

While it is now common for foreign referees to be appointed during important matches in Greece, where the climate is very tense, the Frenchwoman’s performance aroused the anger of Aris Salonika. After the victory of Panathinaikos (1-2), Ms. Frappart had to leave the field under police escort, because of the anger of the players and managers of the defeated team. Not spectators, because the meeting took place behind closed doors.

A complaint filed by Aris

But the matter is far from over. According to the Greek press, Aris Salonika plans to file a complaint with UEFA against Stéphanie Frappart. The Ile-de-France referee showed three red cards during this meeting, two for Salonika, one for Panathinaikos. It is the one in the 66th minute, attributed to Vladimir Darida, which poses a problem.

Aris also criticizes Ms. Frappart for a penalty not whistled in added time, a few minutes before Panathinaikos’ winning goal. The referee in charge of VAR, Hamid Ghenawi, would also be concerned by the complaint from the Salonika club.
