One of the celebrities who tested their luck in the world of professional wrestling is Arrow star, Stephen Amell. Amell has competed in a few matches and one of them is in WWE.
Recently, while speaking to Michael Rosenbaum on his Inside of You podcast, Stephen Amell reflected on his wrestling matches. He also talked about how it felt to wrestle at a non-televised Live Show. The Arrow Star also shared how the fans talk trash about him while he is wrestling.
“Oh, just that, in person, you hear individual voices in the crowd. Yeah for sure. No, you hear them for sure… Well… Because a couple of the times I have been doing tag team matches right? Or even then, or even when I did my singles match in Chicago back in 2018… You’ll be quiet for a second, ‘Bitten off a little bit more than you can chew huh Amell?’ And you are like, ‘Uh oh.’ Or just a guy going, ‘You can’t wrestle.’ Like that. And you are like, ‘Oh my God! Shut the f*** up.’”
Stephen Amell on if he would ever talk back at the fans
During the same interview, Amell mentioned that he would love to talk back to the fans and then went on to reflect on the three wrestling matches he had competed in.
“Of course, I want to say something. You can absolutely say something. You can s*** talk back to the crowd as much as you want… I did [talk back to the fans ridiculing him]. So, the three matches that I have done, two of them were on a pay-per-view which is a f***ing great way to introduce yourselves as a complete Neophyte. Just go to the biggest possible event. And cut it loose. But I did one event in San Antonio, Texas. That was a big Six-Man Tag Match. And it’s not televised. So the match itself was probably like 45 – 50 minutes. And it’s just a lot of fun. You are interacting with the crowd. And they were actually encouraging me after my… After going in the ring and performing a couple of good moves, just to walk back, look at the crowd, look out there, and like, ‘How the f*** do you like me now guys?’ You know? That sort of thing.”
Amell also mentioned that the energy he receives from a live crowd is highly intoxicating.
“[The energy] It’s intoxicating. It’s why you end up doing stuff that once you’ve gone back through the curtain, you’re like, ‘Oh my God. My body hurts so bad,’” Stephen Amell said.
