Stephen Graham has told Deadline he is starring in Netflix’s upcoming Peaky Blinders movie.
The Line of Duty star confirmed to us on last night’s London Film Festival (LFF) red carpet that the pic will be his next project, before he plays Bruce Springsteen’s dad in biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere. He told us he is “looking forward to seeing the lads again” on Peaky.
Graham didn’t elaborate on his role but he played Hayden Stagg in the sixth and final season of Steven Knight‘s smash BBC series. We’ve reached out to Netflix for further comment.
He joins a splashy cast for the movie that includes protagonist Cillian Murphy, Tim Roth, Rebecca Ferguson and Barry Keoghan. Knight recently talked up the “mindblowing” cast during the RTS London Convention, noting that the film is “set in the Second World War and it’s really good.”
The continuation of the multi-award-winning saga has been written by Knight. He will produce alongside Caryn Mandabach, Murphy and Guy Heeley. Exec producers include Harper, David Kosse, Jamie Glazebrook, Andrew Warren and David Mason. The movie will be made in association with BBC Film.
On last night’s red carpet for Steve McQueen’s Blitz, Graham also told us that he is hoping for a second seasons of the BBC’s Boiling Point. His soon-to-launch Disney+ show A Thousand Blows, which is also written by Knight, will premiere at LFF.
