IMG Credit: WWEOn the mend? Injuries are one of the trickiest concepts in all of wrestling, as there is little way of knowing how bad things are going to be when someone is initially hurt. To make things even more complicated, there is always the chance that what you are seeing is part of a storyline. Thankfully that appears to be the situation again, as someone who seems to have been injured is just fine.

This week’s SmackDown saw the return of AJ Styles following a months long absence. Styles wrestled Carmelo Hayes, with the match being stopped when Styles suffered an ankle injury. Later in the show, Styles was taken to a medical facility for further evaluation. According to Fightful Select, Styles’ issue is only part of a storyline and he did not suffer any actual injury. There is no word on how long he is expected to be out of action.

Opinion: This might not be the biggest surprise, but it is certainly good to see. Styles has already been out of action for a good while so it will be nice to have him back as soon as possible. If nothing else, this is not the kind of storyline that you often see and it could be interesting to see where WWE goes from here. Styles is probably getting close to wrapping up his career and this could be the start of the road there, which has all kinds of possibilities.
