Story Daniels skipped the red carpet but took the stage briefly after a screening of documentary stormy after its SXSW premiere. She was emotional often wiping away tears as she embraced director Sarah Gibson and talked about how important it was to tell her story. “And fuck Trump,” she said, before stepping away.

Jud Aptow is an executive producer for the film, which premieres on Peacock later this month.

The porn star’s life was upended after becoming entangled with Donald Trump. She said he paid her $130k to stay quiet about an affair they’d. Since the payout was in the run up to the presidential election, some called election fraud and the Manhattan District Attorney is currently preparing for trial in its hush money case against Trump.

Daniels, a porn actress whose real name is Stephani Cliffords, failed her own defamation suit against the former president and ended up on the hook for $300k for his legal expenses. The lawyer who took up her case initially defended her up and down cable news, Michael Avenatti, was convicted of defrauding her.  

In 2022, he was sentenced to four years in prison conviction for wire fraud and identity theft over an scheme to steal book contract proceeds from Daniels, forging her signature on a letter to her literary agent.
