David Moyes has struggled to find the perfect striker for West Ham over the years and having allowed Sebastien Haller to leave in 2021, the Ivory Coast star has been in top form for club and country.

The Hammers brought the striker in from Eintracht Frankfurt during the summer of 2019 but the 29-year-old would only score 14 goals across 54 matches for the Premier League club.

Haller never suited Moyes’ style of play and the Scottish coach would allow him to leave after a short period of time. The West Ham boss did the same thing with Gianluca Scamacca as he has never been able to make a top forward work at the London Stadium.

Ever since leaving West Ham, Haller has been on an incredible journey. The Ivory Coast international has defeated cancer and scored the winner to help his country win the Africa Cup of Nations this year.

In the Champions League, the Borussia Dortmund star has also shined for both Dortmund and Ajax and has a great record in Europe’s top competition.

Haller scored for the German club in their Champions League quarter-final clash with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night, which takes his record in the competition to 12 goals in 13 appearances since leaving West Ham.

These are impressive numbers and many Hammers fans will now be wondering did they give the striker enough time at the London Stadium.
