EKSU Vice Chancellor, Joseph Ayodele

The Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Prof. Joseph Ayodele, has charged students to always strive for excellence in their academic pursuits.

Ayodele spoke in Ado Ekiti on Monday during the matriculation ceremony for the newly admitted candidates into the Sandwich Degree programme of the University for the 2024 Contact Session.

The VC charged all EKSU students, including the freshers, “to give priority to their academic work above any other activities,” adding, “Faith without work is dead”.

He encouraged the students of the Sandwich degree programme to “feel free to come to the main campus to interact with your counterparts and enjoy the facilities available here such as the main library, laboratories and others”.

Ayodele stressed that students who go through the Sandwich programme are not inferior to those in the regular programme.

He further advised the freshers to “live up to the matriculation oath by avoiding all unethical acts that can affect you negatively as well as tarnish the good image of the university.

“The matriculation ceremony is the official commencement of students’ academic voyage in university,” he stated.

EKSU Registrar, Mr Ife Oluwole, administered the matriculation oath to the students.
