Barcelona have strengthened their ranks in attack through the acquisition of Dani Olmo. The Spanish international is set to join the Catalan outfit for a fixed fee of €55 million.

With Olmo available at his disposal, Hansi Flick will have more variety in the creative department heading into the new season.

Barcelona have impressive depth in defence and midfield as well, especially if all injured players return to action.

In fact, here at Barça Universal, we will take a look at Barcelona’s strongest possible eleven next season, provided all players are fit.

Barcelona’s strongest lineup next season

Flick won’t have much to choose from in the goalkeeping department, with Marc-Andre ter Stegen remaining the undisputed number one.

Things get much more interesting in the defensive line. Ronald Araujo is currently out with a long-term injury, but if fit, the Uruguayan international is a guaranteed starter at the heart of Barcelona’s four-man backline.

Pau Cubarsi is perhaps the best option to partner Araujo in central defence, with Jules Kounde operating as a right-back.

Barcelona do not have much depth in the left-back position, meaning Alejandro Balde is the automatic choice.

Moving in midfield, the combination of Gavi, Pedri and Ilkay Gundogan should work best for Barcelona, though it will be interesting to see how Flick accommodates him in his 4-2-3-1 formation.

However, for the time being, Barcelona will have to make do without the injured midfield duo of Pedri and Gavi, though the former is confident of returning in time for the opening clash against Valencia.

Finally, in the attack, Flick will continue with Robert Lewandowski in the number nine position. The Pole is hungry for goals and will be one of Barcelona’s most important players next season.

Lewandowski will be aided by the creative duo of Lamine Yamal and new signing, Dani Olmo, thus completing a lethal Barcelona attack that can take on any defence.
