Actor Fawad Khan’s return to Bollywood with Abir Gulaal after ban of Pakistani artists has become a topic of discussion. Sunny Deol, who has been actively doing patriotic movies was asked to share his opinion on this topic. In an interview, Sunny states how there should be unity and opportunities as he comments on Fawad Khan’s return.
Sunny Deol on Fawad Khan return to Bollywood
Known for his cross-border patriotic films like Border and Gadar, Sunny Deol was asked by HT City if he supports Fawad Khan’s return to Bollywood. Sunny said, “See, I wouldn’t like to go on to the political side because that’s where things start getting messy. We are actors; we work for everyone all over the world. Even if somebody is watching or not, we are for everyone. So, aisi koi baat nahi hain (nothing like that). The more the way the world has become, we should stay global and let there be more countries; that’s the way it should be.”
For those unversed, In 2016, there was an unofficial ban on Pakistani artists working in Indian films following political disputes. But, in 2023, the Bombay High Court dismissed a petition to officially ban Pakistani artists.
Talking about Fawad, he won hearts with his stint in movies like Khoobsurat (2014), Kapoor & Sons (2016) and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. He is all set to return to silver screens with Vaani Kapoor in Aarti S Bagdi’s Abir Gulaal. The romantic drama is all set to release in theatres on May 9.
