Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Black Stars of Ghana will rekindle their rivalry when the two West African giants clash at Stade de Marrakech in Morocco on Friday.
This will be the first meeting between the two teams since the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Under the guidance of returnee coach Otto Addo, the Black Stars pipped the Eagles to the World Cup ticket.
Both the Super Eagles and the Black Stars will go into the tie on the back of contrasting forms.
In their last five games, heading into today’s game, the Eagles have won four and lost just one.

The loss came in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations against hosts Côte d’Ivoire, who came from a goal down to win 2-1.
On their part, the Black Stars have failed to any of their last five games, recording two defeats and three draws.
The last time the Black Stars recorded a win was 17 November 2023 in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, when they edged Madagascar 1-0 in their opening group game.
Addo now has to turn things around as the four-time AFCON champions look to end their five-game winless streak as they face their eternal rivals.
Meanwhile, the two teams will miss a couple of players going into today’s clash.
For the Eagles, they will be without Victor Osimhen, Taiwo Awoniyi, Tyronne Ebuehi, Ola Aina, Zaidu Sanusi and William Troost-Ekong.
Addo will be without the services of star forward Mohammed Kudus, Thomas Partey and Inaki Williams.
