La Liga has opened an investigation. The Sevilla FC and Cadiz clubs are accused of match-fixing during their meeting on May 15, according to The Confidential. It was Rayo Vallecano who made these accusations. Playing for the 36th day of the championship, Cadiz was still fighting to maintain its position. The 18th in La Liga had to win to continue to believe in it. Cadiz won in the last moments in Seville (0-1) thanks to a goal from Sergi Guardiola in the 96th minute. Their victory seems suspect in the eyes of their Rayo opponents. The Madrid club asked the league to investigate the Andalusian teams, from the preparation of the match, 48 hours before kick-off.

Sergio Ramos’ comments at the end of the match also raise questions. The Seville defender admitted that the Cadiz players had asked their rivals not to insist: “yes, it’s normal that Cádiz, with what was going on… In the end, it’s a neighboring team. I have a particular affection for the south, for Andalusia”. The lack of intensity shown by the Sevillians was glaring for Rayo Vallecano who are awaiting the outcome of the investigation carried out by the league.
