How to shatter 20 years of seniority in your company? Huw Lake has the recipe. Employed by the Swansea club as a player liaison officer, this 61-year-old man was fired… for having bet 130 times on the defeat of his club. The information is surprising but is revealed by The Telegraph this Saturday.

The daily adds that Lake was suspended from all footballing activity for a year, in addition to being fined around €1,800. In total, the man is said to have bet around €100,000 on him since the start (not exclusively on Swansea matches). “Huw admitted the offenses after being charged and he and the club cooperated fully with the investigation by the football authorities”indicates a press release.
