Swerve Strickland doesn’t want anything to do with MVP or Shelton Benjamin, and made it well known during AEW WrestleDream.
In an in-ring segment during the show tonight, Strickland made his way out to the ring to a loud chorus of cheers. After thanking the fans, Strickland said he’s still feeling a bit hurt and has some “tingling,” but that he’s officially medically cleared to participate in the ring, and ready to talk about his future.
Instead, he was cut off by MVP and Benjamin, who came out to the ring. MVP said Strickland still hadn’t gotten back to him, and that must mean Swerve is really thinking about it. Strickland then brought up their past together, and said he’s learned a lot from MVP, and that Benjamin has been a big inspiration to him, but Nana is family, and he’s sticking with family.
Benjamin was quick to intervene, and said that they weren’t asking Swerve to join, but telling him what would happen. Nana and Benjamin got into a shoving match, causing officials to come running down to the ring and cut things off. MVP, meanwhile, told Benjamin that he shouldn’t be giving away anything like that for free.
