Swerve Strickland says that winning the AEW World Championship would mean a lot in multiple ways.
At AEW Revolution, Swerve Strickland will challenge Samoa Joe for the world title. They will clash in a three-way match that also includes Hangman Page.
Speaking with Baby Huey on In The Kliq, Swerve Strickland was asked to describe what winning the world title would mean to him.
“Right now, AEW’s in one of the biggest transitions in the company’s history,” Swerve Strickland said. “There’s a lot of big moves being made and a lot of big talent that’s gonna be transitioning over to AEW. The name is this pay-per-view is quite fitting. We’re literally starting a revolution in pro wrestling, in the industry, on television, pay-per-view-wise. This is a big moment. For me to be at the top of the mountain, as far as the top talent as AEW World Champion, would mean a lot to me. It would be a lot of my culture.
“It would be a lot for the business, it’d be a lot for AEW itself. Especially with all the things that I have going on. Those things support and rocket-launch me already, as far as being an on-screen persona. But now as AEW World Champion, the sky’s the limit for not only myself, but for AEW.”
WrestleZone will have coverage of AEW Revolution as it airs on March 3.
