The Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim,
The National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Mary Alile Idele, has urged the newly appointed Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, to prioritise the implementation of policies focused on combating gender-based violence nationwide.
In a statement on Thursday, Idele also urged the minister to prioritise support for vulnerable women across Nigeria.
“I urge you to work towards implementing policies that combat gender-based violence and support vulnerable women in the country.”
Idele added, “Her appointment is not only a victory for women in Nigeria but also a testament to President Tinubu’s visionary leadership and the APC’s commitment to promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment in our society.”
“Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim’s extensive experience and unwavering commitment to women’s issues make her the ideal candidate for this critical role, and I urge all stakeholders to rally behind her so she can deliver on her mandate.”
She further expressed confidence in Sulaiman-Ibrahim’s ability to drive policies that will significantly enhance the welfare and empowerment of women nationwide.
She called on stakeholders and Nigerian women to support the Federal Minister of Women Affairs, Hon Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, in her efforts to promote women’s inclusion and to fulfil her mandate.
Idele emphasised the importance of visionary leadership in addressing the numerous challenges faced by women and girls in Nigeria.
The National Women Leader urged the Minister to leverage her position to champion initiatives that would provide women with greater access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.
She encouraged all stakeholders to back the new minister in her endeavours to uplift women and ensure their voices are heard in the corridors of power.
