Mikel Arteta has seen his Arsenal side start off the 2024/25 Premier League season in fine style, with two wins from two games and no goals conceded.

That included a difficult away win this past weekend at Aston Villa, who were flying high last season under Unai Emery.

Arsenal’s next fixture is against Brighton and Hove Albion, who have also won both of their games and sit above the Gunners on goal difference.

Then comes the international break before a North London derby and a date with Man City as their two games following the break.

Clearly therefore, it’s important that Arteta has a settled squad, and it appears that at least one more deal will be done before the transfer window closes for business late on Friday night.

??? Crystal Palace and Arsenal set for new round of talks to get Eddie Nketiah deal done.

According to CaughtOffside columnist and transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, writing on X (formerly Twitter), the Gunners and Crystal Palace are set to continue their talks in order to get a deal that will take Eddie Nketiah to Selhurst Park over the line.

It was thought that Nketiah was close to signing for Olympique Marseille earlier in the window, but the deal never transpired.

From the player’s point of view, moving across the capital is imperative.

During the 2023/24 season, he managed to play for 90 minutes on just three occasions per transfermarkt, and at 25 years of age, he clearly needs to be playing an awful lot more than the minutes he’s likely to be given by Arteta.

From the Spaniard’s point of view, there will be money coming into the coffers, and that may even allow Arsenal to make one more incoming deal of their own before Friday night.
