Brighton knocked Chelsea out of the FA Cup last weekend at the Amex Stadium, where the teams face each other again in the Premier League at 8pm on Friday.

The Seagulls came from a goal down to beat the Blues 2-1 in their fourth-round cup tie, but Chelsea have won the last three league meetings, including a pulsating 4-2 victory at Stamford Bridge in September.

Brighton vs Chelsea tips

Draw & both teams to score @ 7/2Cole Palmer to be first goalscorer @ 19/4Over 10.5 corners @ 1/1

Inconsistent rivals could be hard to separate

Brighton were blown away by Chelsea in September's chaotic 4-2 defeat at Stamford Bridge, where all six goals were scored in the first half.

Seagulls fans may have been fearing a repeat performance when goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen's own goal gave Chelsea a fifth-minute lead in last weekend's FA Cup tie at the Amex Stadium.

However, Brighton turned the tie around thanks to goals from Georginio Rutter and Kaoru Mitoma and another competitive contest is expected on Friday.

Backing the draw and both teams to score looks a good bet given that eight of the clubs' last nine meetings have featured goals at both ends.

Clean sheets and victories have proved elusive for both teams in the Premier League recently as Brighton's last two top-flight results were a 1-0 home defeat to Everton and a 7-0 drubbing at Nottingham Forest.

Chelsea remain in the hunt for Champions League qualification but they have won only two of their last eight Premier League matches.

That run includes score draws against Crystal Palace and Bournemouth and there could be a similar outcome when they travel to Brighton, who have had a league-high 10 draws this term.

Classy Palmer ready to hurt Brighton again

Cole Palmer became the first player in Premier League history to score four goals in the first half of a match in September's win over Brighton and he may well torment the Seagulls again.

Palmer's move to Chelsea has been a stunning success and the England international has scored 36 goals in just 53 league starts for the Blues.

One of those goals was the opener in May's 2-1 win at Brighton and his cross set up Verbruggen's early own goal in last weekend's FA Cup clash.

Palmer has gone four games without a goal but he had seven shots, two of them on target, in his last league outing against West Ham and should be backed to open the scoring at the Amex.

Attacking urgency may lead to high corner count

Saturday's cup meeting between Brighton and Chelsea produced only 13 shots and seven corners but the league rematch should be a more open contest.

The top-flight games between the sides in the last four seasons had corner tallies of 18, 12, 15, 10, 13, 10 and 10 so backing over 10.5 corners looks a solid bet on Friday.

The teams also met in the EFL Cup last season, when 13 corners were taken in Chelsea's 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge, and Blues boss Enzo Maresca will demand more attacking intent from his wide players after their limp FA Cup exit.
