Monday is a fairly quiet day in European football as the build-up to a packed Boxing Day begins but there are still a few games of interest.

In England, League One promotion hopefuls Birmingham head to Crawley and in Italy two Serie A games take place, while there are a handful of fixtures in the top flights in Turkey and Portugal, and we’ve picked out our three best bets ahead of the action.

Birmingham -1 handicap at Crawley - 21/20

Birmingham’s stay in League One looks set to be a brief one and they go into the latest round of fixtures in second spot.

The Blues head to a Crawley side who have coped well since winning promotion last season, but the home side could find themselves outclassed on Monday.

Birmingham have won their last six games across all competitions and their last four in League One. Chris Davies’ men aren’t exactly prolific scorers but they can win with some room to spare on Monday as Crawley have shipped 16 goals in their nine home games.

Moise Kean is enjoying a decent season with La Viola in Serie A with nine goals in 15 games, managing 12 strikes in total across all competitions.

The former Juventus forward is going through a bit of a dry spell as he hasn’t scored in his last four appearances, but the visit of a Udinese side who have gone eight games without a clean sheet looks like a good chance to end his barren streak.

Fiorentina are unbeaten at home in normal time across all competitions and they’ve collected an impressive 17 points from a possible 21 at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Serie A. The Tuscan outfit have scored 15 goals and conceded just six at home in the league, and they can cover a -1 handicap against Udinese.

The last leg on this special is a card for Udinese defender Isaak Toure, who has two yellow cards and two red in nine appearances this season. Toure averages 1.6 fouls per game in away games in Serie A and looks a decent candidate for a booking.

Long Shot of the Day

Estrela Amadora to win & BTTS vs Rio Ave - 4/1

Estrela sit just one point clear of the drop zone in Portugal’s top flight going into the weekend but their home form remains solid and they should be able to overcome Rio Ave.

Estrela have 10 points from the last available 12 at home, while Rio Ave have lost six of their seven trips.

A home win and both teams to score stands out as Estrela have managed just one clean sheet at home all season, while Rio Ave have only failed to score in one of their last six games across all competitions.
