The Premier League does not return from its extended break until Tuesday but there is still top-tier football around Europe on Monday.

The matches in Spain and Italy could have an impact on the relegation battles in La Liga and Serie A, while Lazio are looking to boost their chances of a top-four finish when they host Torino.

We have a tip for that game in Rome among our three favourite bets of the day.

Bet of the Day - Draw in Lazio v Torino @ 5/2

Lazio headed into the international break after a stunning 5-0 defeat by top-four rivals Bologna and they could struggle to justify being odds-on favourites for their home game against Torino on Monday night.

The Roman club have fallen to sixth in the standings after failing to win for the third successive match. Their hectic schedule provides something of an excuse as the Bologna game came just three days after a tense Europa League contest against Viktoria Plzen, but the standard of their performance was alarming.

Lazio did something similar in December when they followed a European game with a 6-0 defeat by Inter and they managed to bounce back by beating strugglers Lecce on that occasion but Torino are coming into form and could prove trickier to overcome.

Torino have lost only five of their 15 away league games this season and their first match against Lazio was close as they lost 3-2 at home in September.

Their form was much worse at that time and after taking 10 points from their last four games they can secure something tangible from their trip to the capital.

A win is unlikely with Lazio having lost only two of their 14 home league matches but a draw looks perfectly possible and Torino have drawn five of their last eight away games.

Special of the Day - Celta Vigo to win & both teams to score v Las Palmas @ 23/10

The La Liga schedulers have not really saved their best for last, with improving Celta Vigo playing host to 19th-placed Las Palmas in the final fixture of the weekend programme.

The home side have pushed up towards the European places on the back of a six-match unbeaten run, winning three and drawing three, with both teams having scored in four of those six matches.

However, it may not be plain sailing for Celta against a Las Palmas side who have picked up points in two of their last three games, albeit against fellow strugglers Valladolid and Alaves.

Las Palmas are on an 11-match winless run and all six of their league wins this season came in a golden spell between October and December, so another defeat is likely, but they are capable of getting on the scoresheet.

Both teams have scored in eight of Las Palmas' last 10 games and that has also been the case in 10 of Celta's last 12 matches.

Long Shot of the Day - 2-2 draw correct score in Verona v Parma @ 13/1

There were five goals in the first Serie A meeting between Verona and Parma this season, with Verona winning 3-2 on the road and it may be worth backing another high-scoring match between the pair on Monday at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi.

Verona's last four home matches have included defeats by 3-0, 5-0 and 2-1 scorelines and they are averaging more than two goals against per league game at their Marcantonio Bentegodi home, with 32 conceded in 14 matches.

They have scored only 13 times in those games, but may fare better against a Parma defence that has struggled on the road.

Parma have won only one of their 14 away league games, conceding almost twice as many goals as they have scored (24-13) and both teams have scored in six of their last nine outings. 

A 2-2 draw could be overpriced with both sides needing to be positive as they try to stay out of the relegation places.
