Bet of the Day

Las Palmas to win vs Espanyol - 3/4

The brief winter break has probably come at the wrong time for Las Palmas as they head into this batch of La Liga games in a rich vein of form.

Los Amarillos are unbeaten in four games across all competitions and that run began with a memorable win at Camp Nou against Barcelona, while they managed to leave Real Sociedad with a point last time out.

Las Palmas entered the weekend four points clear of danger and they can make the most of home advantage against relegation rivals Espanyol on Sunday.

The Catalan club have been poor on the road all season, taking just one point from eight trips and scoring just four times on their travels in La Liga, meaning Las Palmas look well placed to claim an important win.

Special of the Day

Leicester City to win, Leicester City over 5.5 corners, Joao Gomes to be shown a card - 13/1

Our Special of the Day comes from the King Power Stadium as Leicester City entertain Wolves.

The visitors will be hoping for the kind of new-boss-bounce the Foxes enjoyed after Ruud van Nistelrooy’s appointment in Vítor Pereira’s first game in the hot-seat, but getting a result at Leicester may be too much of an ask.

The hosts offered little in a 4-0 defeat at Newcastle last time out but have been much better at home, while Wolves have lost their last four overall and have struggled on their travels all season with five defeats in eight games.

Leicester aren’t necessarily a team who win loads of corners but Wolves have conceded 21 in total across their last three trips, so at least six looks an achievable total for the home side.

Finally, Joao Gomes returns from a one-game ban for Sunday’s fixture after picking up five yellow cards and he could find himself in the referee’s notebook once again. Four of Gomes’ five bookings have come in away matches, and he is averaging a hefty 2.3 fouls-per-game.

Long Shot of the Day

Bournemouth to beat Manchester United - 14/5

Bournemouth claimed an historic win at Old Trafford last season and they have a chance to down Manchester United on their own patch again on Sunday.

United were dumped out of the EFL Cup by Tottenham on Thursday, so there is a quick turnaround here for Ruben Amorim’s side and the Cherries can make the most of their extra days off.

Bournemouth claimed four points from their two games against these opponents last season and come into this match in good form, taking 10 points from the last available 12, and they may be able to stun a United side who have three defeats in their last four domestic outings.
