There is plenty of football for fans to enjoy on Sunday with four matches in the Premier League and a host of other matches across Europe.

Arsenal’s home match against Liverpool tops the bill, but that is not the only show in town and here are our selections from the key action.

Bet of the day

Middlesbrough to beat Sunderland @ 21/20

Middlesbrough look Sunday’s best bet as they take on north-east rivals Sunderland in the only Championship contest of the day.

Boro fell to Luton in the playoff semi-finals last season, and there must have been something of a hangover as they took a while to get going this term.

However, they have now found their feet and can emerge from a 12-day break with a victory over Sunderland, having already beaten second-tier leaders Leicester and promotion-chasing Southampton and West Brom at the Riverside.

The Black Cats also have their eyes on at least a playoff place, but these have been strange times at the Stadium of Light, as fans have failed to take to new manager Michael Beale following Tony Mowbray’s dismissal.

Sunderland have won just one of their last nine away league matches and this looks a difficult assignment.

Special of the day

Bournemouth, Osasuna and Reims all to win @ 11/2

This is a treble that has something of a continental feel, but it seems sensible to start at home and go for Bournemouth to see off Nottingham Forest at the Vitality Stadium.

The Cherries were beaten 4-0 in the last home game by Premier League leaders Liverpool, but they bounced back with a creditable draw at West Ham, and they took ten points from their four Vitality clashes before that defeat to the Reds.

Striker Dominic Solanke is in red-hot form with nine goals in his last ten games, and he should be champing at the bit to face Forest, against whom he netted a hat-trick in a 3-2 win at the City Ground in December.

Forest caused a stir by winning at Newcastle on Boxing Day, but that was only their third win in 30 away games since their return to the Premier League and they look vulnerable.

The Cherries can be supported in a treble by backing Osasuna to beat Celta Vigo in Spain and Reims to see off Toulouse in France.

Osasuna put up a strong performance in falling to a 1-0 defeat to Barcelona last time out and they can build on that by beating Celta, who have lost their last three games in La Liga.

Meanwhile, Toulouse have won just one of their last ten games in Ligue 1, which does not bode well to a visit to Reims, who have made a strong start to the new year and will have had their confidence boosted by a recent 3-1 win at Monaco.

Long shot of the day

Wolves to beat Chelsea @ 5/1

Chelsea have won their last four home games, but a 4-1 defeat at Liverpool on Wednesday could have left its mark and Wolves could spring a surprise at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea’s victories on their own patch have come against Brighton - who have scored one goal in their four subsequent away matches - bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United, Crystal Palace and Fulham, who have not been in great form on the road either.

Wolves, who beat Mauricio Pochettino’s side 2-1 at Molineux on Christmas Eve, battled back well with two late goals against Manchester United on Thursday before being sunk by Kobbie Mainoo’s last-gasp winner, and that was only their second defeat in seven league games.

They showed their quality on the road with a recent 4-1 win at Brentford and could land a win at chunky odds.
