There are also games from the Copa del Rey and the Coppa Italia to look forward to and we have picked out our three best bets from the action.

Bet of the Day

Napoli to beat Lazio and under 2.5 goals – 21/5

Napoli have well and truly bounced back from a poor season last time, sitting atop Serie A after 14 games in which they have conceded just nine goals.

Lazio are also enjoying a good run, sitting in fifth, four points off the leaders.

The capital club are in the Europa League, whereas Napoli's struggles last season left them without European football this time.

Antonio Conte may well regard that as some kind of blessing. They began their season with a Coppa Italia win against Modena in August but, since that, have played those 14 Serie A games and one in the cup, a very easy 5-0 win over Bologna in September.

They have won seven of their last nine, keeping six clean sheets, whereas Lazio are playing their 20th competitive game and were beaten at Parma on Sunday.

Both coaches may opt for changes in this Coppa Italia showdown, but Conte may be better placed than Marco Baroni in that regard and his side can edge what should be a low-scoring affair in Rome.

Special of the Day

Goal in Both Halves of the Fulham v Brighton and Bournemouth v Tottenham Hotspur Matches – 5/4

Enhanced odds on the prospect of goals being scored in both halves in Thursday's two Premier League games are worth taking.

Both teams have scored in Brighton's last five games and the same is true for Fulham in four of their last five outings.

Tottenham started this round of matches as the leading scorers in the Premier League with 28, while Bournemouth have scored in five of their six games at the Vitality Stadium.

Fulham and Tottenham played a goalless opening half on Sunday, the only time in any of these four clubs' last four games that any half has failed to produce at least one goal.

Long Shot of the Day

Brennan Johnson to score first vs Bournemouth – 7/1

Tottenham head for the Vitality Stadium knowing that defeat on the south coast would see Bournemouth leapfrogging them in the table.

Ange Postecoglou's side are once more struggling for consistency, enduring successive home draws against Roma and Fulham since they thumped Manchester City 4-0 at the Etihad.

Injury concerns are having an impact, of which there can be little doubt, but the Lilywhites have to find a way of maintaining some level of consistency or the pressure will increase dramatically on their likeable boss.

One man for whom consistency isn't proving a problem is Brennan Johnson.

He managed just five goals in 32 Premier League appearances in his maiden season as a Lilywhite, but Sunday's opener against Fulham has already eased him beyond that tally, now with six in 13 this season alongside four more in the cup competitions.

He has scored in four successive games for club and country and can continue that rich vein of form by notching the opener at Bournemouth.
